Try this, it worked well for me and Note2 (USB port driver failed every time to connect)! I saw that many people have problems to connect Samsung to PC. Kies own "troubleshoot connection" for USBġ. uninstall latest Kies v2.4_28_8 & reinstalled older version, v2.5_7_5 uninstall & reinstall Kies & USB drivers Tried the following, which either didn't work at all or worked sporadically. I can only imagine how many man-years (literaly) of time have been wasted by people around the world trying to get around this issue! Thanks you Roy and let's hope Samsung gets this figured out in a future release of Kies. I plugged the phone to the USB, the drivers loaded and the phone was recognized. I then started Kies, waited for it to load and ask me to connect the device. Now the good news, I tried Roy's suggestion about switching the USB mode from "PDA" (where it was at) to "Modem" and then back to "PDA". So today, with no small amount of trepidation, I allowed Kies to install and update - Guess what? You got it! The problem about the mtp device driver failing to load came back! Unfortunately, I am not sure which of the many things I tried finally dd the trick. After much struggle I finally got it to load and recognize the phone the first time I installed Kies. I turn off GoogleDrive because I don't like my Mac chatting up the cloud unless needed but leave it active on the Tab.I have had a similar problem with my new Galaxy SIII (SGH-I747M). My Desktop shortcuts (ES File Explorer makes shortcuts) relate to the files in the download folder so when they are overwritten, the shortcut still works.Īfter the move GoogleDrive syncs, removes the files from GoogleDrive and on the Mac they go into the Trash. I put the files in the Download folder on the tab. Go to the More option at the bottom right of the Tab. Select the files by holding down on one until you get the little check box. ES3 allows you to select multiple files for an action. On the Tab open ES File Explorer > Network > Cloud > GoogleDrive folder. On the Mac, put the files in the GoogleDrive folder. I assume it would work Tab to Mac but don't know. Free, works well without having to mess with some of the things mentioned in this thread. Just an idea - GoogleDrive and ES File Explorer File Manager to transfer from the Mac to the Galaxy Tab. I have Desktop shortcuts on the Tab for the files and didn't want to have to make new shortcuts when the files were updated. I wanted a way to get the updates to the Galaxy Tab. I have a number of files I turn into PDFs on the Mac that get updated frequently - audio / video lists and info on the videos in folders. I buy technology devices because the device itself does what I want it to do and fits my needs. Apple is great and all, but its far from perfect and some of their products are not worth bothering with. I'm not going to purchase a product "just because" its apple. I shouldn't have to jump over the Safari to buy a book in the Amazon Kindle store, I should be able to buy it directly from the app itself. Which is an outrageous policy in my opinion and doesn't exactly create a very good user experience. Apple have stopped allowing app developers from having store access via their apps. The 7 inch Galaxy Tab 2 is a lot smaller than the iPad mini and is still without the restriction of using in app stores for Kindle, Audible etc. But they are not small enough though and their specs are lower than the new iPad (which makes zero sense). I'll be honest here the iPad mini's look ok. At the time of this post the iPad mini was not available in Ireland.
